Chief Financial Officer
Dr. Ted Moore serves as the Chief Financial Officer. In that role, he is responsible for strategic planning for the University System. This includes oversight of Focus Carolina, a system-wide planning initiative begun under President Harris Pastides; the Business Office; the Budget Office; Information Technology; and Governmental Relations. Dr. Moore is the Berlinberg Distinguished Professor, having received his Ph.D. from Virginia Polytechnic Institute in 1982, with a major emphasis in Finance and a minor in Statistics. Since arriving at USC he has taught in the Moore School's Ph.D. program and the International Master of Business Administration (IMBA) program. During 2000 - 2005, Dr. Moore served as the Editor of the Journal of Financial Research, and he now serves on the editorial boards of the Review of Financial Economics and Research in International Business and Finance. Dr. Moore has authored numerous articles in refereed journals in finance and economics, and is the author of the book Real Options and Option-Embedded Securities (John Wiley & Sons, 2001), and the monograph Options in Corporate Finance (McGraw-Hill, 1996, 1999). He has been honored with numerous awards for teaching excellence, including the Michael J. Mungo Graduate Teaching Award, and has been recognized for research excellence with the USC Educational Foundation Award.
